Thanks to everyone who helped keep MugStock so clean and tidy last year. Our heroic litter crew only had to pick up 2 bags of rubbish from the whole of the main camping field. Let’s make it 0 in 2017!
In an effort to keep Mugdock Country Park nice and clean for everyone, and to discourage tents being abandoned, we operate an Environmental Deposit scheme. All ticket holders are entitled to camp free of charge. When you arrive at the box office you will be asked to pay a £5 cash deposit for every member of your party over 13 who wishes to camp. In return you will receive a 2nd wristband which grants access to the camp sites. When you leave all you have to do to get your Environmental deposit back is hand in a sack of rubbish or small bag of cigarette butts and show us that you have packed your tent away. A member of the team will remove your camping wristband and return your fiver.
There will be a clearly marked spot next to the campsites to chuck your rubbish and reclaim your deposits. We’ll aim to have it manned at the times we expect folk to be leaving. If there’s noone there when you’re packing up, you can either take your rubbish and packed up tent up to the box office, or if you have the means, take a selfie of you and your party with your rubbish and packed up tents, chuck your rubbish in the pile, and show your photos to the lovely people in the box office.
The campsites close at 1pm on Monday. Any Environmenal Deposits unclaimed by 2pm on Monday will be treated as a charitable donation.
IMPORTANT: You must present your camping wristband still attached to your wrist in an undamaged state to reclaim your Environmental Deposit.
