Madam Tsunami is a folk- pop collective fronted by husband and wife Adam and Coralie Usmani.
Their recently released album ‘Long Way From Home’ was recorded to mark the couples relocation from Auckland, New Zealand to Aberdeen in Scotland – The album touches on themes of nostalgia, growing older, new beginnings and yearning for home.
Madam Tsunami were highly recommended at the Danny Kyle Open Stage at Celtic Connections (2016), and have released one other full length album, Man in the Middle (2014). Adam Usmani is a current semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition.
Adam (guitar/vocals) and Coralie (fiddle/vocals) are joined by Scottish musicians Innes Cardno (guitar, mandolin), Stewart Wilson (double bass) and Simon Gall (cajon, vocals, keys) to perform songs and tunes flavoured with the musical language of Scotland, but delivered with a decidedly Kiwi accent.
