Finn Anderson had written his first musical and self-released 2 solo EPs before leaving school at 16 to study Music.
Raised in Fife on the East Coast of Scotland, Finn spent his early teens staging self-penned theatre productions at his local theatre; using the profits to build a home recording studio where he began producing solo music. After graduating from the University of Highlands and Islands age 19, Finn ventured South to complete a Masters in Musical Theatre Writing at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Embracing his penchant for the theatrical and knack for poetic storytelling, Finn’s songs are characterised by their lyrical intricacy and his distinctive baritone voice. Straddling various styles and genres, his music has drawn comparisons to Rufus Wainwright, John Grant and Antony and the Johnsons.
Now 24 and based in Glasgow, Finn has created an impressive and diverse body of work. Alongside his solo songwriting, he has written two award-nominated musicals and composed music for a number of performance, film and art projects.
“Finn Anderson could be called a musical miracle child. Already at the age of 14 he made his own recording studio in his parents’ house, at 16 he had already released two EPs and moved on to music studies. Today the Scotsman is 24 years old, composes musicals and film music. Thank god there is still time for his own projects.”
“Can one start the week more beautifully than with this voice… his music has an aura of professionalism and affability which is all too often absent… A wonderful new discovery”
“All three tracks of this EP are just gorgeous, with Anderson’s perfect voice carrying his words over those excellently-crafted melodies… will leave you speechless.”
