We had a lovely weekend pretending it was MugStock, and looking forward in salivating anticipation to the triumphant return of festival season. We made some announcements, we shared our site plans, we created some music and we rattled out some tunes. Don’t worry if you missed it, we recorded the best bits…

“YOU CALL THAT RADIO?” MugStock Special

Given his reputation for impressive conversational stamina, we maybe shouldn’t have been surprised that our visit to Mark McGhee’s virtual studio lasted over 6 hours. We were joined by special guests including confirmed bookings Becci Wallace and Steg G (who will be bringing a next level iteration of Scottish hip hop institution Butter and a new Orchestral Hip Hop live set to MugStock 2021). We also announced that the mighty Stanley Odd will be appearing on next year’s lineup.

The show ended poignantly with a campfire jam session featuring big friend of the festival and one of the most prolific members of MugStock’s photographer family, and a most fitting tribute to the recently departed and much missed Richard Barrett (the mastermind behind the folk who dress as bananas and give out bananas at MugStock and other festivals and a much loved member of our festival family). TRASH Music Zoom Workshop

Thanks to everyone who took part in the first ever TRASH Music workshop to be delivered over Zoom. In less than an hour the group created a piece of experimental music. This piece, entitled “Morning Routine” was created by live sampling noises through webcams, including a box of jaffa cakes, a cute wee bell, a crisp packet and our voices.
