THE PASSING SAGES

The Passing Sages are a six-piece pop outfit from Fife, Scotland.

Packed with memorable melodies, funky rhythms and rich harmonies, the vibrant music of The Passing Sages blends electronic pop with retro and nostalgic vibes. Taking inspiration from artists such as Chic, Calvin Harris and Lady Gaga. The Passing Sages are a flourish of disco, electronica and soul.

The differences of each of the ‘Sages’ respective musical tastes and experiences reflects in their positive and engaging music.

The Passing Sages are made up of vocalists Carrie Forgan and Holly Clark, Nic Holson on guitar, Mr Clyne on bass, Daniel Keay on keys and Sean Priestley on drums.

After a year of crafting their musical style, Holly and Carrie joined the band and their first gig took place shortly after at a packed PJ Molloys. After continuing to develop their musical repertoire, their line up was finally established with the addition of keys player Daniel Keay in 2020.

The Passing Sages were pleased to release their jazzy and upbeat debut single, ’(Your Love Makes Me) Happy’ in May 2019 which included the smooth and soulful B-side track, ‘I Was Wrong’.

The band’s second single, ‘Destiny’ was released in January 2020 and received positive feedback from DJs and bloggers across the board. Alistair Braidwood of Scots Whay Hae! hailed the song ‘one of those tracks which works its way into your head and heart and refuses to leave. As close to a musical guarantee to lift spirits as I can think of’.

Packed with funky rhythms, catchy melodies and rich harmonies, November 2020 saw the release of the 5 track ‘Burnin’ Up’ EP which takes inspiration from retro nostalgic sounds as well as incorporating a vibrant blend of contemporary styles. Described as a “must hear release this winter 2020” by FVMusicblog.
