Becci Wallace

Commanding a voice described as “electric, haunting, mesmerising”, Songwriter Becci Wallace produces a stringently original blend of folk and hip-hop elements.

With her critically acclaimed albums Fragmentality (2015) and Present Tense (2020), she has earned national radio play, countless festival appearances and rave reviews across Scotland and beyond.

Becci co-creates SongSeeds Songwriting Retreats, and mentors emerging artists across genres.

As a teacher and researcher (with an MA in songwriting and PhD-study in hip-hop education), she brings depth to her craft. Expect thoughtful, genre-defying songs rooted in personal truth and creative resilience.

Minerva Wakes

Dark, juicy triphop with a generous helping of bass and a twist of witchy, glitchy psychedelia. Minerva Wakes blurs the lines between performance and ritual with a sound that is in equal parts ethereal, heavy and

A bright illuminating energy in a Dark Age, the crystalline visions of druids and demigods, hypnogogic half-waking reveries.” – CT Heron

Jonni Slater

Jonni Slater’s music ranges from intimate and heartfelt to uplifting and cinematic, mixing a love of dramatic soundscapes with classic songwriting.

“captivating soundscapes that are both cinematic and emotive” – Lost In The Manor

“sits at the crossroads of chamber pop, alt-rock, and modern cinematic composition” – Mystic Sons

Wytchwound

Wytchwound is the new project from Scottish singer-songwriter Eve Davidson – 2024 Celtic Connections Open Stage winner.  This project explores a darker, heavier evolution of her sound that leans into raw emotion, eerie textures, and stripped-back intensity. Starting as a research project into the Fife witch trials, focused on humanising the women accused of witchcraft, Wytchwound has grown into Eve’s full creative identity: a brand, a sound, and a space where grief, fury, and power can live side by side. The music sits somewhere between folk and noise, where silence feels like a spell, and the noise like something breaking loose. Wytchwound’s debut single Don’t Make Me… is the first glimpse into an EP that dives deeper into those shadows.

Maaike Siegerist

Maaike Siegerist is an award-winning Dutch singer-songwriter, based in Glasgow. Working across genres — from acoustic jazz and folk rock to electronica — she writes story-telling songs about travels, love, remarkable people, endangered species, and now, space. Her work has been featured on both local and national BBC radio. She performs regularly in the UK and the Netherlands, with highlights including Celtic Connections, Keynsham Music Festival, and the Bristol Harbour Festival.

“Delicate vocal, poised production, gorgeous chord changes”
– Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 6 Music

Lesley O’Brien

Fresh from supporting Alabama 3 in Glasgow on December 4th as part of The Carlton JugBand, songwriter Lesley O’Brien brings her unique and engaging story-driven songcraft to the MugShack.

Joseph Smith

Expect immediately catchy, toe tapping songs dripping with country influences.

Máirín

Gentle, evocative and emotive songwriting combined with a minimalist, pure sound which is sure to captivate the MugShack audience.

Lucky Motherson

Existential, evocative and heartfelt experimental pop music with a pinch of humour.

The Corellas

Formed in 1964 and reformed in 2015, The Corellas are a beat group with a twist, driven by the distinctive songwriting of singer Callum Rae. Revitalising the spirit of classic 60s pop while carving out a sound entirely their own, the band blends tight rhythms, melodic hooks and vivid storytelling. With Rae’s imaginative, heartfelt songs at the core, The Corellas bridge past and present, delivering music that feels both timeless and freshly inspired. Their live shows showcase the group’s dynamic interplay and warm, characterful energy, inviting audiences into a world shaped by nostalgia, creativity and reinvention.

Melatonin

Formed as part of TRASH Music Projects, Melatonin are the MugShack’s resident youth band and are increasingly proving themselves to be a musical force to be reckoned with.
