MugStock Logo

MugStock is a charity developing communities around creativity. We bring people together through events, and develop spaces in which people can connect and be creative. Our main focus is the development of The MugShack, located in what was the Cumbernauld town hall, into a thriving space for live music & community projects.

5 years in the making, the MugShack is MugStock’s flagship events venue, serving up live music, artists studios and space for community projects for at least the next 5 years. Whilst we got our public entertainment license at the end of March, unfoseen circumstances mean that we have to wait a little longer to officially open our doors as Cumbernauld’s newest non-profit music venue.

We are operating this space as a Warm Bank, and are working in partnership with local organisations Cumbernauld Alternative Network CIC and TRASH Music Projects to run creative activities for local people. We are working towards launching a programme of regular events with a focus on live music, and are also keen to invite other 3rd sector organisations and groups to use the space for the further benefit of our community.

BURROUGHS SOCIAL CLUB CONTINGENCY EVENT

We’d like to give a big thank you so much to our wonderful team, to everyone who had the faith to stick with us and show up, to Burroughsclub Glencryan for sharing their amazing venue at such short notice, to the attendees of the surprise 70th birthday party next door (we imagine they really were surprised!), to Stuart Purdie for the awesome lighting, to Pro Sound Services for the stunning sound and for being utterly lovely to work with, to Margaret and Tommy from Cumbernauld Community Jam for being actual mind readers and spontaneously offering at exactly the right moment to professionally film the whole event, to Utah Saints for utterly smashing it and for supporting the grassroots, to Howdo Bean’s Dino Crew and Barrett’s Bananas for bringing their wonderful and unique energy, making everyone smile and keeping us all topped up on bananas for the foreseeable future, to This Questionable Life for getting the party started, to Colonel Mustard & The Dijon 5 for keeping it going and going, (and for donating the fancy rum from their rider to the crew after party 😛), to Stu Anyweather and Jay Syntax for taking on the unenviable challenge of following Utah Saints and completely delivering, and to Leigh and Suzy for ending the night with a spontaneous fire performance in the car park. This is MugStock, and it’s just the very start of what we are committed to bringing to Cumbernauld. Much, much, much love x
