Join the MugStock Dream Team

MugStock is a not for profit organisation powered by the love and hard work of volunteers.  If you would like to volunteer to help create Scotland’s friendliest festival please register below!

We need volunteers to help on the weekend of the festival, the week before to help us set up, and the week after to help us tidy up.

Directly before the festival (mostly from Monday 23rd July) we need help with:
  • Driving around in vans picking stuff up and dropping stuff off
  • Finishing and installing the decor – painting, decorating, basic DIY, installing signage.
  • Helping with production office admin – phones, filing, deliveries, being organised
  • General helping hands – lifting, carrying, putting banners up, putting fencing out, etc.
  • Crew Catering – assisting our catering team to make sure everyone’s fed & watered. A much-loved crew.
Over the weekend of the festival we need help with:
  • Stewarding – making sure everyone’s safe, happy and in the right place. We need stewards to check wristbands on the festival site, help with parking, and maybe help out overnight at the campfire or elsewhere.
  • Crew Catering – assisting our catering team to make sure everyone’s fed & watered. A much-loved crew.
  • Box Office – selling tickets, putting on wristbands, dealing with general enquiries. A friendly first point of festival contact!
  • Stage Crew – lifting & carrying, getting artists’ gear up to stages. Keeping backstage tidy. Ability to be helpful and knows how to not get in the way. Helps out the stage manager.
  • Sound & lighting – assisting with sound & lighting. Knows how to work a sound desk / lighting board.
  • Driving – on-call for driving needs during the festival.
  • Helping with production office admin – phones, filing, deliveries, being organised
  • Volunteer management & support – our volunteer coordinator Sara would really appreciate a hand. There are a LOT of volunteers. Making sure that folk sign in for their shift, providing / finding cover where necessary, answering queries, general runner.
Directly after the festival (Monday 30th July – Thursday 2nd August), we need help with:
  • Taking down decor and signage
  • Taking down fences
  • Pulling poles out of the ground
  • Cleaning equipment / decor and getting it ready for storage
  • Reuniting lost property with its owners
  • Packing/unpacking vans, returning equipment to stores.
  • Returning stuff we’ve borrowed to their generous owners
  • Tidying up & making sure that we’ve left the site in a decent state.

What we can offer:

  • A full weekend crew ticket
  • Breakfast and another meal each day you volunteer Friday to Monday
  • 3 meals a day if you are helping build / dismantle the festival
  • Plenty of time to enjoy the festival (the whole weekend if you help before and / or after for 4 days in total)
